Tiefling

Tieflings are a race originally of D&D 4E, and one of the many races that populate the world of Creare.

Background

Long ago, Tieflings were human, members of a unified kingdom which spread across the world like wildfire. Their strength and intelligence were the things of legends, and indeed many artifacts of the world are of Tiefling origin. However, the current Tiefling race is but a shadow of that once great power, their demonic appearance the most prominent feature of this fallen race.

Historically, it is said that the kingdom of Tiefe discovered a way to control the raw energies of the active crystals that run beneath the world, and binded themselves to this great energy to aid their conquest. They were foolish to believe that they truly controlled the crystals however, and when the crystals stopped obeying their will, their kingdom was destroyed and the land rendered barren for centuries. It is believed a similar magical explosion caused the Thirland Calamity, and as such hope exists that one day the land there will also return to a fertile and prosperous state.
